Does Your Squeeze Page Have Purpose?

The squeeze page of any online business can be considered the most important component of any marketing plan.

Appropriately referred to also as the ‘gateway’ page or Landing Page, the squeeze page is generally where an online business will capture the name of a website visitor. In hopes these names will convert into repeat customers into the future, the ‘gateway page’ is the cornerstone upon which an online business is grown. It is the key to your list building efforts.

Online marketing often involves a lot of flashy copywriting with eye catching graphics and bold headlines. Ironically enough however this type of ‘pizzazz’ should be left out when constructing a squeeze page.

Setting aside list building for a moment let’s examine the intent of any landing page and what it is we need to consider before we begin to drive any traffic to it.

Since this page will be the first thing any website traffic may see we need to consider WHAT and WHY it is they’re here for in the first place. Obviously we set up some sort marketing campaign that attracted them so now we ask ourselves ‘what is it they are expecting or want’?

Obviously you can assume that if they’ve responded to your ad their needs are related to what it is you are promoting.

Well the key here now is how QUICKLY and CLEARLY you can communicate your ’solution’ to their problem or convince them you can fill their needs. If your message is unclear or off target your website visitor will likely disappear forever.

In addition we also need to consider what we can do to ‘help’ encourage visitors to leave their contact information.

The use of some sort of free giveaway generally works well on your squeeze page as that added ‘incentive’ for website visitors to subscribe to your list. Attention needs to be paid to how well this gift relates to what it is you’re promoting or the problem you are trying to solve. Is it something that would appeal to your visitor or address their needs?

Building a squeeze page involves much consideration towards what your website visitors want or need. Are you addressing these issues clearly and quickly with them on your landing page? Does you free giveaway serve a useful purpose for them? If so you’ve got a new subscriber. Next up we’ll discuss the appearance of our landing page.

I’m looking for a web site that helped me determine who to vote for in our upcoming presidential primary.?

I took it last week and now I’d like my wife to use it but I can’t find it. It was unbiased and did a nice job asking questions about key issues. It was something like the “looking glass”. I tried searching for it but had no luck. I did find a quiz called “Quiz Rocket” but I don’t recommend my worse enemy take that because they tried to sell me and have me opt in to over 45 pages after I took the quiz but before they’d give me the results.
I understand that each candidate has their own web site where they have good information. However, that information is obviously biased. All politicians are crooks, I’m just trying to see which aligns the best with my views.

Here are some good links for looking at where the candidates stand on the issues. Some are a bit slanted toward their pick by giving better information on those whom they think should be nominated and scant information for those who are qualified by the issues – not bought.

The war in Iraq is not from 9/11. The Iraq war started because we were falsely told that there were weapons of mass destruction. The UN and Congress never supported going to war and we didn’t have a declaration of war prior to attacking them. We just had the build up since 9/11. Besides, they have good natural resources like oil and Halliburton is making a bundle off the war. Cheney must like that.

The war in Afghanistan is still happening. Why aren’t our soldiers receiving better coverage and funding? What happened to Osama Bin Laden? Remember him and all the threats against our nation before and after the attack? Why weren’t these terrorists stopped before 9/11?

Also, none of the top 3 candidates have done anything to secure our borders while sitting in the senate. In fact, they reduced protection at our nation’s borders and have not given any information as to how they plan to secure our borders without infringing upon the rights of U.S. citizens.

The only *remaining* candidate who supports securing our border immediately is Ron Paul. Why do we have to wait until after the election to take action? And why does amnesty have to be wrapped up in securing our border from terrorists? These are two separate issues!

How to put a sign in / sign up box on the front page of my Wordpress blog?


One of the biggest things I want to have (besides google rankings and traffic, of course :D ) for my site is a decent opt-in rate percentage, but obviously the number of people who are willing to opt-in are made null because I don’t have a stupid sign in / sign up box on the front page of my blog.

Any help on how to do this?

Wordpress has feature called revision. After every 60seconds, wordpress saves copy of our non-published post which is called “Revision”. After publishing, revisions do exist in database and populates the database with useless data. Compact size of database is fastly executed. Use this SQL query to delete all revisions and free-up your database.

DELETE FROM wp_posts WHERE post_type = “revision”;

Static Page Vs Dynamic Page:-

Wordpress creates dynamic page by default and uses MySQL and PHP as backend. MySQL and PHP both consume system resources. Just imagine if you have 5000+ clicks then each time your landing page is dynamically generated. A number of SQL queries are executed. Try to change your landing page from dynamic to static. This is very easy in wordpress.

Minimal Use of Plugins:-

Only use essential plugins for wordpress, based on your need, and avoid own hosted Stats program. We have a variety of plugins that generate stats for us. They increase SQL queries and use PHP. Below we have code for showing the number of queries every time executed when a visitor visits your website. Only logged in user will see the query result in bottom of page.

3) The Call To Action.

The call to action is the statement after the headline and the benefit statement that tells the prospect exactly what you want them to do.

If you don’t tell the potential subscriber what you want them to do, in many cases they will do nothing and leave your website.

Think about it. You’ve pulled them in with your headline, enticed them to leave their details to get the information you have. So now you need to tell them exactly what they need to do to get that information from you.

4)Rules Of Formatting.

You want to make sure that your site is a centered table. This gives your site a good looking feel and lots of space on the left and right side.

When people come to a site that has no margins and see loads of text, they get intimidated and usually leave because they don’t want to read a whole bunch of text. That’s the nature of the human mind; People want their information fast and in an easily digestible format.

A lead capture page isn’t about you or your company. It is simply used to collect information that builds your list. You want to capture their email, phone and name so that the information is added to your autoresponder list. If

Always keep in mind when constructing a lead capture page that you are providing a solution to your visitor’s problem. You want to write your lead capture from your visitor’s perspective. Ask yourself, “If I saw this, would I
offer up my info for what’s inside?” Remember, they are looking for a solution to their problem. They need to know that by providing their information they will receive that solution.
 
There are 5 components to every distinguished lead capture page. They have been tried and tested and provide your best chance at capitalizing on the lead.
 
Pre-Headline
 
Start your lead capture page with a question that is in direct line with the actual headline. This is an effective way to grab your visitor’s attention.
 
Headline
 
You create curiosity with your headline and that keeps your visitor there. It is very important to have something attractive. It doesn’t have to be long. You just want to present a problem to them that you have a solution for.
Remember, they get that solution when they opt-in to your lead capture page.
 
Usually, the famous “How to” is always a great way to start your headline. Your visitor will know exactly what they will get from filling out the form.

“You’re About To Learn “How To”….” (Tell them exactly what they are going to get… people need direction)
 
Body (this is used if you are creating a longer lead capture page)
 
It basically summarizes what some, not all, of the things they will receive on the other side of the lead capture page. It lets them know the benefits they will receive for providing their information to you.

You want your body to look nice and clean. Use a less significant font then your headline and put the benefits in a bulleted form. You don’t want to steal attention away from the main headline. Keep it simple.
 
Capture Form (Opt-in Box)
 
Remind your visitors of the benefits they will receive from you after they fill out the capture form. It is imperlative to ask for a valid email address and first name. Asking for too much information, like phone number or address,
will lead to a lower conversion rate. Notify them that they need to use a valid email address because that is where their information will be sent.
 
Call to Action
 
The call to action should tempt the reader to take instantaneous action, such as requesting additional information. Use something catchy like “Get FREE Instant Access” or “ Yes! I Want The FREE Secrets Now!
 
It is highly recommended to have a strong call to action. The visitor needs to make an immediate decision. Make it simple and direct. Tell them what to do in order to receive what you are offering.

A small privacy statement needs to be at the end of your lead capture page. You want to let the individual know that they are not going to be spammed and that there personal information will not be sold or rented. This

First things first. A lead capture page is a one page website that informs your visitor about your offer and basically gives them just two options: give their name and contact email details, or leave. Your chances of keeping a visitor interested and wanting to find out more information will be massively increased if your lead capture page is personal.

You must have seen them. Those replicated company lead capture pages that are exactly the same as the last Joe Blog’s page offering the same service or business opportunity. I don’t know about you, but when I see these all I think to myself is “boring”. I might stay for a couple of seconds out of curiosity but then I leave, every time.

This follows the same principle as attraction marketing and getting your visitor and potential customer to know, like and trust you. YOU have to be there on your lead capture page. We all want to know who we are dealing with, not just be informed about the company or business opportunity.

Now I know you might be thinking that a company will probably have a lot more resources at their disposal to invest in producing a flashy video or neat graphics on their Squeeze Page (Opt-in Page, doorway page – just another term for lead capture page). How are you supposed to compete with that?

Well I have used both. I found that a personalised lead capture page brings in a lot more subscribers than a company produced site. Every other person marketing the same opportunity as you using a company page might have a flashy site but at the end of the day, they just blend in. There is nothing unique about them. Nothing for your visitor to relate to.

So make your own lead capture page personal. This is easy. Even if you know nothing about creating websites (use Weebly). You will need your own autoresponder service to generate an opt-in form (I use Aweber) and a video of yourself telling YOUR story (embed a YouTube video). Get people to know who you are and where you are coming from. Then they will trust you.

People will not relate to a company but they will relate to you. When you are just starting out, you may lack the confidence and belief in yourself. Do not get bogged down with negative thoughts and think they will not leave their details. Your confidence will grow and you can always change your video at anytime, as well as the copy that you use. But it is yours.

Which brings me to the most important point here. Not all, but some opportunities out there will give you a company lead capture page to promote and collect the leads for you. This is a huge mistake – they will not be your leads, they will be the companies. Think about it. What happens if that company folds or you simply choose to start marketing a different product or opportunity. If you are marketing a lead capture page and collecting leads, you want those leads to be yours, period.
