Increase Your Page Rank With Link Building Bookmarking Sites

Page rank is at the top of the priority list for every website and blog. If your page isn’t ranked well, no one will find it, you won’t have any traffic and business will suffer. The bottom line- you need to rank in the top few results in the Search Engine Results Pages or you won’t be able to make a success of your online business. Sure, there may be the rare exception to this rule, but overall, you have to do a whole lot more than just build it before they will come, you have to have your sign out on the road- at the top of the SERPS- to show them the way.

One great way to increase the ranking of your page for the search engines is to build your inbound links from other sites. When link building, the higher the page rank of the incoming link, the better it is for you. One way to create inbound links for your site is through leaving comments, with a link, on other sites and blogs. Another popular way to create incoming links is by using social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking sites allow users to create lists of their favorite sites, articles, photos and other online information by posting links to the respective sites on the bookmarking site. Then people who follow you on the bookmarking site can get a look at where you like to surf on the Internet and check out the same things you are checking out. Obviously, the higher your popularity or expert reputation online, the more people you will have respecting the links you post and clicking through to find out what you are learning and sharing.

Delicious.com is a popular bookmarking site and it is both free and easy to use. To join Delicious.com you simply fill out a quick form with some basic profile information. After that, start bookmarking your online favorites and sharing some link love.

In order to get the most from bookmarking, you need to categorize your links. Delicious.com and other bookmarking sites require categories, or tags,for the links you post and will offer suggestions based on the URL or the article title. Try to post in the most logical categories, but don’t be afraid to get a little creative as well. You can use the popular search buttons on Delicious.com to search for popular sites in your industry as well.

Most online entrepreneurs- and perhaps bloggers in particular- are not only generous in sharing links to other sites, they are also quite reciprocal. There is a definite “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” attitude prevalent among most bloggers and affiliate marketers. Most successful entrepreneurs realize that no one is successful in a vacuum and they are more than happy to share the wealth.

How Much Should Your Website Cost?

If you just started planning your website, the prices and options can sometimes be confusing. In this article, we listed different budget options for small business owners and what they can expect to receive for the money they pay.

There are many web design companies that offer a wide variety of options for small business owners. Choices range from very simple, do-it-yourself websites with limited options to full e-commerce powered, professional websites that include shopping carts, streaming videos and more. The right choice for you is largely dependent on the type of business you run and the amount of the budget you have. However, it is a good idea to explore all of the options and price ranges available for web design. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you always want to provide the most professional website possible. After all, your website is often the first impression your customers have of you. A good impression may bring in more business, but a bad one will turn your customers away before they even make the contact.

Budget Range from $0 to $200
:

Small business owners who choose to have a very simplistic website with a minimum of features may choose to purchase or download a software package to create their own website.

A few good options for do-it-yourself web design are:

Google Page Creator (free)
Mozilla SeaMonkey (free)
Microsoft LiveOffice (free when you sign up for Office Live Small Business)

This type of web design for small business is best when the website is only needed to provide basic information, such as store location and hours. The free software provides you a template that lets you change the color and choose the layout. The upsides are that it is free or low-cost, relatively easy to use if you have some experience and you are in total control over your website design and maintenance. The downside is, unless you have the skills to write the code yourself and have an artistic eye for layout and design, your choices of designs are limited and you are likely to end up with a generic, amateur-looking website.

Bottom line: If you don’t have a budget or your budget is very limited and you have the skills and training to create your own website for your business, you may find this option very useful and cost effective.  However, be aware that you will need to spend several hours, possibly days or weeks, in setting up your website.

A different approach: WordPress
Wordpress is a blogging website that allows you update the content frequently and easily. The blog setup is easy and simple. WordPress itself is free, and there are a handful of themes and layouts you can customize to make your website. For those small business owners who want to set up a website but do not yet have a budget or the skills to build one, WordPress is a good way to get your feet wet. However, this is really a temporary solution. As your business grow, you should consider spend a little bit more money to have your website look more professional.

Budget Range $200-$500 – Template Based Design

Hiring a website developer can cost as little as $200. This is generally offered by an internet firm that offers affordable web design for small businesses by customizing existing templates. The beauty of this is that you don’t need to do the dirty job yourself. However, because of the fact that they are using templates, these people are probably not qualified graphic designers. They are doing nothing more than changing the graphics, adding pictures or modifying the banners. You will have a website that looks much like any other small business’s website on the internet. If that does not bother you, these types of companies can be found by searching Craigslist and other job boards. This type of company may or may not have knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to make your website discoverable through search engines.

Bottom line: if you don’t have the time or skills needed to set up your website and you have a small budget, this may be a good option for you.

Budget Range: $500-$1000 – Complete Custom Design
If your budget is in this category, expect the website to be completely custom designed by a qualified web designer. These designers will add custom graphics, make navigation buttons, and add your logo and other little niceties that will give your business a professional image. E-commerce and content management integration are typically not included in this budget range. However, some companies will try to squeeze them in by sacrificing the design time or using templates. However, this practice is not recommended by most website professionals, because the result is often a site that looks like a template-made, half done e-commerce site. Web design in this budget level should include basic SEO and submission to search engines.

Bottom line: Most small business owners choose this because they are able to purchase a well-designed website that is personalized for their company. This type of design is especially appropriate for service-oriented businesses or those who only sell a small number of products. A full e-commerce powered website is often overkill, but a professional, original design is always appropriate.

Budget range: $1000+ — Complete Custom Design with Bells and Whistles
Web design in this budget level should expect some advanced features such as flash pages and interactive shopping carts. A content management system should be included for frequent content updates. The designers who charge this much are usually very knowledgeable about SEO and can give you options for obtaining high Google ratings. Often, for an additional charge, these web design firms have a maintenance program that will take care of any updates for you.

Bottom line: this budget range is for those businesses that need sophisticated options on their websites and have the money to invest in them.

Final Thoughts

The budget ranges discussed here are only estimates. This gives you a good idea of what you can expect to spend; however, remember that the real world is never that cut and dry. For example, a $999 and a $1001 website may fall into two different categories in this discussion, but that does not mean the extra two dollars will bring you the full power of an e-commerce site. Some companies are able to offer more website for less money than the competition, for example, the standard web design package from EQlink Web Design is $499. Although it falls into the template price range, it actually is a complete custom site designed by qualified designers.

Something to bear in mind is that the more options you want on your website, the more you will need to factor into the web design cost. Try to have an idea of what your business really need before you seek out a web designer. This will also help you determine what type of company you want to hire to create your web design. For small business owners, the thought and care that go into the creation of your website can be critical to your success.

Maximize Your Return on Investment With Google Adwords

Most businesses want a cost-effective way to bring in more customers. The challenge is to find prospects who are thinking about your products at the exact time that you reach them.

With Google AdWords, it is possible to target prospects at the very moment they are thinking about buying your products or services. Most of you know how it works: If someone does a Google search on digital cameras, for example, she sees ads for digital cameras. If someone does a search on organically grown coffee beans, he sees ads for organically grown coffee. Google AdWords enables you to implement precisely targeted advertising.

Here’s how to maximize your success with Google AdWords. With proper preparation and execution, starting Google AdWords can be like planting a money tree that will provide your business with a steady stream of revenue.

What Is Google AdWords?

Open up a Web browser and go to the Google Web site. Type in the search term coffee and click search.

Essentially, two types of search results come up: on the left and below are the organic search results that no one has sponsored. On the right side of your browser window and sometimes above the organic results are the Sponsored Links. The Sponsored Links are paid advertisements—they are always identified as such by the heading Sponsored Links.

As participants in this automated auction, each of these advertisers is bidding for the keyword coffee. They pay only if someone is interested enough to click on the advertisement; if nobody clicks on the ad, the cost is zero. The higher the advertiser bids on a keyword, the higher in the rankings the ad appears and the more likely Web searchers will see it. Ranking means visibility, though you do not have to be at the top of the rankings or bid the highest amount for prospects to see your ad and click on it. Your goal is to get the lowest cost per click (CPC) and the highest quality clicks (sales and leads) for your budget.

Finding Your Niche

Sometimes with popular keywords (like coffee), there are many companies competing. On the other hand, popular keywords get millions of searches, so there might be enough clicks to go around.

The only way to find out if a particular keyword will work for you is to try it. The problem is that many other advertisers are bidding for the popular keywords, so your CPC is likely to be high. You are more likely to get a low CPC with more obscure, highly targeted keywords. It will take some thought to come up with the right keywords.

Our coffee roaster would probably want to try the keyword coffee, and watch it like a hawk as it could result in many low-quality clicks (not many conversions to leads or sales). If a keyword does not produce high-quality clicks after a reasonable trial period (a couple of weeks), then remove it; it may even be obvious sooner that a keyword is costing money but not producing results.

Perhaps our coffee roaster sells shade-grown coffee that protects Central American songbird habitat. While far fewer people are searching for shade-grown coffee than just coffee, it is likely to yield a lower CPC and higher quality clicks.

Do some brainstorming and write down an initial list of keywords that match your market niche. This process of finding targeted keywords will be a useful exercise to help you focus your campaigns and maximize your return on investment.

Getting Started

The first thing you need to get started with AdWords is a goal. Is your goal to make direct sales via e-commerce on your Web site? Is your goal to capture sales leads that you can follow-up with and make the sale? Alternatively, is your goal a combination of both? Once you have determined a goal, you need a Web site that helps you achieve that goal.

Your site should be eye-catching and well-organized and should include Landing Pages for your products or services. To see some examples of landing pages, do a search for your services, and look at what other companies in your market are doing.

The Landing Page can be your homepage if your site tightly focuses on one product or service you are advertising (e.g., this permission-based email marketing site). Otherwise, the landing page should be within your larger site and should focus on the specific product or service you are advertising.

If you are selling directly from your Web site, it should include a secure e-commerce system. Any good, technically competent Web design firm can set this up for you.

If you want sales leads, then your site should include a call to action to persuade people to request more information. The way they submit a lead is to click on a link to a lead-capture form. You need a form that at a minimum sends you—or the appropriate sales staff—an email, but ideally it should also create a lead for you in a customer relationship management (CRM) system such as SalesForce or SugarCRM.

Whether you are selling directly from your site or capturing leads, your site should always have obvious ways to contact you using whatever method the prospect feels most comfortable using: a contact form, email, or telephone. Some company sites make it hard to figure out how to contact them for more information.

It is important to have a number of people—both inside and outside of your company—test your Web site for usability and ease of use. Prospects should never have to wonder how to buy from you or how to contact you to ask a question about your products or services.

Signing up for Google AdWords

Once you have a goal, Web site, and landing page, you are ready to sign up for Google AdWords. Learn by doing. It is easier to write the advertisement and select keywords using the tools that Google provides during the sign up process.

If you plan to spend at least $30/day on AdWords, Google offers a JumpStart program to help you get started using AdWords. Google JumpStart specialists will help you create a campaign. The cost of the program is $299, but Google will apply that as a credit toward the cost of your initial clicks.

Campaigns and Ad Groups

The Campaign level is where you set your daily budget, language targeting, location targeting, ad distribution preferences, and the start and end dates for your campaigns (if applicable).

The Ad Group level is where enter your keywords and the advertisements themselves. Each Ad Group has one or more ads. Write at least two ads for each ad group so you can try different approaches and compare the results.

In my experience, it has been beneficial to create multiple campaigns so I can experiment with different parameters and compare the results.

Targeting

Choose the language you want to target, and then the countries or territories. This requires some thought. Can you offer your product or service globally, in just the United States, or in just your city or region? You can target your campaign to the world or to specific countries, regions, states, or cities.

For even more precise targeting, you can even target your campaign to a certain number of miles from your business or even an area bounded by coordinates.

Writing Your Advertisements

You have just a 25-character title to get surfers’ attention, and a 70-character ad to get people interested enough to want to click on your ad. It is not a lot of text, so make it pithy.

Write the Headline, the text of the ad, and enter the Display Link (always link to main page of your Web site), and then enter the Destination URL (your landing page). The Destination URL might be your main page or a page within your main site dedicated just to selling the product at hand.

Here’s a fictional ad example:

Headline: Shade Grown Coffee Beans

Description line 1: Shade grown coffee. Tastes

Description line 2: better & saves valuable rainforest.

Display URL: www.goodshadegrowncoffee.com

Destination URL: www.goodshadegrowncoffee.com?&utm_id=coff1

Another example:

Headline: Shade Grown Coffee Beans

Description line 1: Coffee that tastes better and

Description line 2: protects valuable rainforest.

Display URL: www.goodshadegrowncoffee.com/

Destination URL: www.goodshadegrowncoffee.com?&utm_id=coff2

Conversion Tracking

To track the conversion rate of your campaigns—i.e., how many sales or leads you get for your investment—requires a little preparation. You will need to have your webmaster embed snippets of code to the appropriate pages on your Web site. Google explains how to set up and implement your conversion tracking code here, including example code.

Google Analytics

In the fictional advertisement examples I gave, you may have noticed codes in the destination URLs: “coff1″ and “coff2″. These are tracking codes that facilitate the tracking of a wealth of information by Google Analytics.

Google Analytics, which Google has integrated with AdWords, is a very powerful service for tracking the success of both your organic and paid search results for your site. It will help you better understand your site visitors’ experience in detail. In addition, you can learn what keywords bring in the best prospects, and which of your campaigns are delivering the best return on investment. You can use Google Analytics to track marketing campaigns other than AdWords as well.

Google Analytics is too big a topic to cover much here, but I will devote a future article entirely to this powerful marketing tracking service.

Choosing Your Keywords

As I mentioned earlier, it is important to pick good keywords. Initially, choose both general keywords and narrowly targeted keywords, and carefully evaluate the results. Keep keywords that are getting you results, and remove keywords that are not working for you. You will probably need to run your campaigns for a while before you will have enough information to determine which keywords are succeeding for you.

In the keyword space provided in the setup process, list the keywords or keyword phrases you would like to use. Because people tend to type fast when they search the web, be sure to include common misspellings of your keywords. Here are some example keywords that our fictional coffee roaster might use:

* coffee
* coffe
* shade grown coffee
* shade grown coffe
* shade grown
* shade coffee
* coffee shade grown
* shade grown coffee migratory birds
* benefits of shade grown coffee
* gourmet coffee
* gourmet coffee beans
* gourmet coffees
* coffee beans
* gourmet coffee beans
* organic coffee
* organic coffee beans
* certified organic coffee
* coffee beans organic
* mail order organic coffee
* bulk coffee

To get more keywords, enter a keyword into the Keyword Tool Box and click on Get More Keywords. This will generate additional keywords, some of which will be relevant to you and some of which will not be relevant. Keep the relevant keywords and toss the rest.

Now, you have a good starting list. Later, you will want to add new keywords and remove non-performing keywords. A good keyword is one that yields conversions: customers or good leads.

Google Search vs. Google Content Network

Google AdWords can place your add in essentially two places: Google search and the content network. Google search are results from searches that prospective customers do directly using www.google.com. The content network consists of Google partner sites and sites that run advertisements through Google’s AdSense program.

In my experience, Google search has yielded much more quality clicks than the content network. The content network is worth trying, but I recommend putting it into a separate campaign so you can measure its results against your Google search campaign.

The content network is opt-out, and it is not possible to opt out during the setup process. However, to opt out of the content network for a specific campaign, you can go back to campaign settings and uncheck the checkbox for content network.

Then setup a separate campaign where you focus on the content network and opt out of the search network. Compare the results between the two campaigns. It is possible that you will find Google search is more productive than the content network, but of course your results may be different from mine.

If you want to keep it simple until you are more comfortable with AdWords, I recommend starting with just the search network. Then come back in a few weeks and set up a separate campaign to try the content network, then compare the results with what you are getting with the search network.

Your Daily Budget

Your daily budget for your campaign is the ceiling on your daily spending. You can set this number at whatever you want. It is a good idea to start out with a relatively low daily budget while you refine your AdWords effectiveness. As your ad campaigns succeed and bring you more business, you will likely want to increase your budget.

Start with a daily budget of about $10-$15 per day and gradually increase that amount as you fine-tune your approach.

Your Bid

In addition to your daily budget, you will need to set a maximum bid that you are willing to pay as a cost per click (CPC). This requires some trial and error to get right. Being the highest bidder is not really what that you want. Instead, you want to get the most quality clicks you can for your budget. If you bid too high, your CPC will be too high and will eat up your budget too fast; if you bid to low you will not get enough clicks and hence enough sales.

You might try starting with a bid of $2.50, and see what happens for a day or two. Then gradually raise or lower the bid, depending on results. If clicks consume your daily budget in a couple of hours, then lower your bid. If the advertisements are not getting many clicks, then raise your bid. Continue this process until you find the optimal bid.

Leads and Sales

What if visitors are clicking on your ad but are not buying or contacting you? That likely means your ad is working but your site or landing page is not persuading prospective customers to take the next step. It can also mean that your product or service needs some work to become more competitive. Compare what you are offering to what your competitors are offering.

The simplest things can make a dramatic difference. When your landing page is not getting you conversions, change one thing and see what happens over the next day or two. That way, you can determine which changes work. Do not be afraid to try possible solutions, knowing that some changes will fail and some will work well.

Recently, one of our landing pages was not getting enough conversions, so I made some minor changes to the wording on the page and conversions started going up the next day. On another page, we replaced our very simple order form with a much more elaborate version. Our sales for that service immediately plummeted. We simply changed the order form back to the simpler version and sales picked up again immediately.

Harvesting From the Money Tree

The Google AdWords money tree is now planted, optimized, and working to bring you leads and sales. What do you do now? Harvest it, of course, by solid follow-through and providing the best possible service for your clients.

Go back from time to time and take a look at your results. Make adjustments to your budget and bids as needed. Write another advertisement that takes a slightly different tack. Remove an ad that is not producing high quality clicks for you. Make some improvements to your Web site to see whether you can increase your conversion rate.

Practice Kaizen—a Japanese word for continuous, incremental improvement. Even if your Google AdWords money tree is providing good yields, there are always ways to improve its performance.

So pour yourself a cup of good coffee, and get started using Google AdWords today!

4 Easy Adwords Tips That Will Make Your Campaign a Winner

AdWords is a wonderful way to bring highly targeted traffic to your website but many people fail to reach their true potential with it. In all honesty, maximizing profit with Google AdWords is a science.

Here are 4 tips on conducting a successful AdWords Campaign:

1.) Understand how AdWords works

Most people cannot even make their television remote work properly. Why? Because most people do not take the time to read the instructions. The same is true in the internet marketing world. Before beginning your AdWords adventure, you should take the time to learn everything you possibly can about the system. There are others who have used the system with great success so we know that AdWords is a viable way to generate high quality traffic. No system is going to work if you do not learn how to make it work for you.

2.) Understand keyword types

There are 4 keyword types that can be used with AdWords, and each will affect how your ad is triggered:

Broad Match ? example: dog racing((This type of keyword is entered using no quotation marks or brackets. When a user conducts a search that contains either word, your ad will be triggered. This type of match is not always as effective as you might like it to be and can attract the wrong type of traffic.( Phrase Match ? example: ?dog racing?((Using quotation marks when entering your keywords will narrow the field a bit. Now, only searches that contain the words ?dog racing? in that order will activate your ad.

Exact Match ? example: [dog racing]((If you enter your keyword with brackets surrounding them, a user must type the exact phrase into the search box. This type of match will allow you to narrow the focus of your campaign and your ad will only be triggered by an exact match.

3.) Relevancy

To get your ad placed as high as possible while enjoying the lowest cost, the copy for each of your keywords must be strictly relevant. Put your keyword in the headline and in the body of your ad.

If you do not do this then your ad will be in a much lower position and the cost will be significantly higher.

4.) Landing Page

Believe it or not, AdWords places a good amount of weight on the quality of your landing pages. Google believes that your landing page must be true to your AdWords copy. If you are advertising a free product, e-book, or report then there must be an open download link on your landing page. If you are using the word free in your ad and lead your visitors to a Squeeze Page where they must provide their name and email address in exchange for your freebie, Google will penalize you.

The best advice here NEVER use the word ?free? unless there is an open download link on your page.

The tips described here are just a few of many that will help your AdWords campaign be successful. Learn as much as you can about the system and make it work for you.

Blogging: Three Ways of Creating a Blog to Get Traffic to Your Website

Blogging is a great way to get traffic to your website, and if you create a blog for no other reason than that, you are practically certain to get positive results. Blogging and traffic are made for each other for can visit to www.feed-reader-links.com, and there are several ways of using blogs to promote products on your site.

The first question is what kind of blog? Although there are alternatives, the most popular blogging software packages are Google’s Blogger and Wordpress. This offers you four blogging options, and three ways of creating a blog to get traffic to your website.

Why four from just two blogging packages? Here is the answer to that question, and how if you create a blog using each, you will maximize your earning potential from your products:

Blogger

Blogger is blogging software owned by Google. Most people run their blog from BlogSpot, Bloggers blogging host. When you do that you have less control over your blog than if you operate it from your own IP address. Blogger is very easy to use, and very easy to get started with, and is popular with those who don’t want to worry about templates, plugins and designing their own blogs.

Wordpress

Wordpress can also be run from the Wordpress hosting site. However, where Wordpress scores over Blogger is in the fact that the software can be uploaded to your website, and can be run from there for the help www.rss-announcers.com. This enables you to use any of the thousands of Wordpress plugins and templates that provide an almost unlimited degree of functionality in your blogging that will help to drive traffic to your website.

When you create a blog with any of these two different packages, whether run from your own computer or from the blog host, you are able to provide fresh content daily to your virtual website. Because that is what a blog is: it is in effect a web page, in the same way that a Squidoo lens and a page on a website is a web page.

Bogging and Search Engines

Blogging allows you a presence on search engines such as Google and Yahoo, and allows those with little idea of SEO or even of web design, to sell products online. There was a time when blogs were a rarity and something new, but blogging is now a way for anybody that knows how to create a blog can drive traffic to their website or to their blog page and help they make money through free advertising.

However, even a blog has to be advertised. Blogging in itself is not an advertising technique, but one of displaying your thoughts, idea, products or advertising your products. Now, you might think I am being a bit duplicitous here, stating that blogging is not a means of advertising yet can be used to advertise! Yet both statements are true. Let me explain why.

Is Blogging an Advertising Technique?

Yes and no. You can create a blog in order to get traffic to your website, and in that respect you are using your blog for advertising. You can place a link to your website: your Squeeze Page, sales page or just a content page. The question is, how do you get people to read your blog, and then click on one of these links? The link could be placed at the bottom of every post, and on a permanent page on your blog, but how do yet get traffic to your blog: you have the same problem now as getting traffic to your website!

What you have here is that blogging can be use to promote another site, whether it be a website, another blog or a social networking site such as Facebook, MySpace or YouTube. You can use all of these to promote and sell products. However, how do you get people, to find your blog? Creating a blog is fine, but that is only the start.

How to Create A Real Estate Lead Generation Automation System

Did you know that anyone can set up their own real estate automation system? It’s not even all that expensive, and if you do it right, it could generate lots of leads. Let’s take a look at what you need to do and how to do it. A real estate automation system could be just what you need to get your business going in this slow market. Here’s what you need to know.

If you ask the average real estate agent whether they can use the Internet to drive leads for their business, they’ll tell you it doesn’t work. That’s because most of the people who’ve tried doing it didn’t know what they were doing. Poorly used methods and the wrong tools can add up to a lot of wasted money. But, the majority of home shoppers now start their search online. That means that using only traditional methods to generate leads could keep you from getting in touch with the very people who want to do business with you.

If you want to succeed in generating online leads, the important thing is to focus on using an automated system that’s effective and builds relationships with people who might become your clients. If your prospective clients feel like yet another number, they’re not going to be interested in working with you. It’s that simple.

Most agents fail at one of those important factors. Either they use an automated system that makes their prospects feel unimportant, they use an inefficient, ineffective system, or they forget about automation entirely and try to do all the work by hand. Any of those problems is going to result in a failed online lead generation system. Fortunately, you don’t have to end up like them.

Want to make the Internet work for you?

You can stop having do to print mail and reduce your marketing expenses significantly, without paying a lot for online leads. It’s not just luck, either. Simple techniques, like keyword marketing, blogging, use of an autoresponder, SEO methods, and other ways of getting in touch with people in the market for a new home are all it takes. Here are a few of the basic techniques and what you need to do with them.

Keyword Marketing Research Most people look for homes using search engines. This means that they find their real estate agents through keywords. Knowing which keywords they’re likely to use can help you find leads. Take the time to do some keyword marketing research (there are many guides out there that can help you get this information) and you’ll know where to start with your campaign.

Blog Based Websites and Landing Pages

A blog based website is the better choice for most real estate professionals than a static site, these days. Blog sites let visitors get to know you and your business. They allow a personal feeling without a lot of investment on your part, too. Just write about what you do, what’s available, and your methods. Be sure to use a Landing Page or squeeze page for visitors, though. These pages are the ones that get their names and contact information – the important data that you need to generate leads.

Auto responders or Auto Notifiers

An autoresponder is an important part of your automated system. It gets the information out to your prospective clients as soon as they sign up. It’s also a great way to distribute newsletters and other information about you that’ll help them stay interested in what you have to offer.

Search engine optimization (SEO), is an important part of using those keywords. It’s a method to make sure that the search engines know what your site is about and what keywords to rank it for. Take the time to do it well, and you’ll find yourself climbing in the rankings. Look for free SEO plugins from Wordpress for your blog.

Video Creation Video advertising is another method to get the information out to your prospects. Try sites like www.getafreelancer.com and others to find freelancers who’ll make your videos for you. Just remember that you get what you pay for, and the cheapest isn’t always the best.

Syndication Don’t forget to syndicate the great content you’re distributing through your blog. Sites like feedburner.com can help you get the word out through syndicated blog feeds. Readers will sign up to read them without needing to go to your site.

Other Online Property Submission Web Blasts Sites like Vflyer.com also have some great features that can help you automate your lead generation, bringing in the people you need to do business with.

If you do it right, you can automate your real estate lead generation. It’s remarkably simple. Just take the time to check out all the options, and make sure that you go at it in an organized, human, automated fashion. You’ll be surprised by how many solid leads you generate by spending only a little money and a little time at the beginning. Don’t miss out on all the great leads you could be getting through the Internet. It’s where people go to look for their next home, so it should be where you go to look for your next client.

How can I capture a song played with Quicktime on a website?

I’ve done it before but completely forgot. After clicking a link there’s some music playing on an otherwise blank page with just the Quicktime bar used to play the song. Quicktime logo flashes quickly before it starts playing. I’m using Firefox.

Thanks!
Hi,
That choice is faded. It’s also a song, not a movie. Thanks, though!

http://www.stgwindsor.co.uk/help/graphics/qtspeed/settings.jpg

In most Quicktime bars there is a black arrow pointing downward, bottom right. Click and hold it, and select “Save As Quicktime Movie…”. A window will pop up asking you to name the movie. Name the movie, and save it.

Now, in some movies the “Save As Quicktime Movie…” is faded, and you can’t click it. Sorry, but it doesn’t want you to save the movie. I’m not sure of any other way, but there probably is another way.

On some movies there may not even BE a black arrow pointing down in the bottom right corner of the movie box. Thus, I don’t know how you can save it if you come across one of those.

Enjoy! Good luck! (I hope this is what you mean!)

Search Engine Perspectives-Landing Pages, Fly Paper

Landing pages have the ability to grab and hold us like fly no-fly paper or repel us like jumping on the trampling. The question is what impact your landing page has on the people who visit your website. As I talk to people who are just getting into SEO (search engine optimization), all they focus on our rankings in traffic. We have to remember that “rankings” in “traffic” or not the end but a means to the end. That end is visitors to your site that take advantage of the solutions that you offer. We can have a lot of traffic to our website but if no one is sticking around long enough to see if our solutions can solve their problems then that traffic does not mean anything.

A lot of thought must go into your landing pages, both from a search engine perspective and from a customer perspective.

Search Engine perspective:

This is covered in Search Engines 101 Paid Vs Natural Search so I am not going to go into detail here.

Customer Focused Landing Pages

Your landing page has to do one thing, answer the questions that the searcher had in mind when he typed in his keywords. The searcher type in his search terms because he has a problem, needs a solution or is in some kind of “pain”. You have about two seconds to convince him that you understand what he is going through and what he needs. The last thing a searcher wants to see is that you can jump higher, run faster and do it better than the competition. He just doesn’t care (yet). Besides, most of the websites that he already visited probably stated that they do that. The challenge is to show the searcher that you have the answers to his needs. How do we do that?

1. Think of as many questions as you can that might be on the mind of a visitor to that specific landing page.

2. Choose one of the questions to be the title of that specific landing page. Use the other questions as sub points or topics in the outline of the page.

3. The content underneath each heading will be a description of the problem. It is very important that when you describe the problem you do it from your client’s perspective.

4. After describing two or three scenarios that your client may fall into closeout with the paragraph that describes your qualifications for dealing with the above scenarios. This is where you put in how me years of experience, the combined experience of your team or your experience in the marketplace.

5. The last thing is to have a call to action. The idea is that if your client falls into one of the scenarios described it would be natural for them to do the call for action to get help with their problem.

For example, if someone is doing a search on long-term care insurance they may only have a general idea of what you’re looking for. When they come to a landing page that has a question like “what happens to your nest egg if you suffer an illness or an injury that requires long-term care?” Then in the description of the problem they read that one year of long-term care can cost between $90,000 and $130,000 and as a result of this high costs it will either force you into bankruptcy or dependency on your children or family to take care of you. (Not a pretty picture.) After you add your qualifications, whatever they are, you put in your call to action. It could be something like “for a free quote and help in understanding what your options are fill out form below and one of our experts will contact you within the next 48 hours”.

So the question remains, are your landing pages flypaper or trampolines? Customer focused landing pages are worth the time and energy to produce. If you are not sure give us a call and we will do a free evaluation of your site. This will help determine whether or not changes or in order.

Pay Per Click Landing Page Tips

A lot of business websites have poorly-optimized pages that are supposed to sell or entice people. As much as there are lots of businesses doing pay-per-click, there is also a disturbing level of Landing Page Quality until now. The measurement of quality is how well your landing page performs in terms of conversion – how many sales or a leads do you generate through your page?

To help you avoid making the same mistakes, here are eight tips on Landing Page Optimization.

1. Use Main Keyword or Search Term in your Title tag or Heading
Make the reader feel that they are in the correct page. To put the main keyword or search term used to land on your page gives them the idea that they are not being misled. This also encourages them to read more.

2. Quick Page Loading Time
Don’t waste your paid clicks on bounce rates. Prevent people from getting out of your page because your landing page loads like a turtle. Avoid putting too much graphics or videos that are not engaging or necessary to your purpose. In a matter of 2 to 3 seconds, the landing page must be ready for the visitor.

3. Focus on your main offer
Be faithful to your initial offer shown in your ad. Focus your page around a single call to action, such as a free eBook or demo. Avoid the temptation to include extraneous company information, or other offers that can distract your readers.

4. Let Your Visitors Know What To Expect after your landing page
You should let your visitors know what’s going to happen after they leave your page. Inform them early whether they will be led to a check-out page, or if they are going to receive an email. Tell them exactly and specifically what will happen. An example would be “Click here to go to our secure check out page where you can enter your shipping details.”

5. Display Trust and Security
Brand, trust and security icons as well as testimonials deliver confidence messages that can have a tremendous impact on conversion. Despite the fact that we are about 10 years into the commercial web, users on even the largest sites and brands in the world are influenced by these messages and images. People are still sceptical so go for the Verisign and eTrust logo.

6. Make Your Content Simple and Easy to Scan
People don’t read Landing Pages, they scan them. Write in bullets, if you can. Be sure your copy sells your offer when someone scans just the first three words of each bullet or paragraph. Write your keywords in bold. Use simple words – they must be easy to understand.

7. Place High Value on Whitespace
Since users do not read all the text on a web page, they keep only certain elements that they use to make a decision if the page is relevant to their goal or not. Clean use of space allows users to scan and absorb key messages easily.

8. Use Call To Action
Make sure you are telling your visitors exactly what to do and/or what their options are. Make instructions clear and simple as if you were telling a 4th grader how to do it. Never rely on your visitors to figure things out on their own. Call to action buttons must be prominent – ideal if you put it on the upper fold of the page set on the left – eye movement goes like the letter ‘Z’. Also have your call to action links placed repeatedly on strategic places on your pay per click landing page.

3 Step Home Internet Business Strategy: SEO Pages, SEO Articles And SEO Blog

Because the whole internet works by the information, one proven strategy is to respond the search engine behaviour of the surfers. Bookmark this page, press Ctrl+D.

1. Write The Home Internet Business SEO Pages To The
Readers, Not To The Search Engines.

The buyer of the home internet business site is always a human being, not the search engine. For this reason the copy and look of the SEO page is more important than the search engine optimization, so the keywords should be somehow invisible.

To get enough power for the home internet business marketing, it is recommended to use about 10 keyphrases, which all include separate keywords and keyword combinations. This is the strategy to reach effectively more market niches.

Here is an example: if the main keyword is: internet home work income business , it includes also keyphrases like: internet home income business,internet home business etc. The target is to get the top rankings on search result pages with all these keyphrases. A great tool for this is an article marketing.

So SEO is ONLY a technical aid to get high search engine rankings and more targeted visitors. It is important, but what happens to the visitor is even more important.

It is realistic to select keywords with around 1.000 searches per month. Just for testing purposes, some bigger keywords can be included, but not as a main keywords.
The keyword research should also include the research of the top 5 pages on the result pages of each keyword. If the on-page SEO is poor and the number and the quality of links are low, the chances to beat the top page increases.

2.Write Interesting SEO Articles.

The SEO articles will be written along the same principles than the SEO pages above. The SEO article must use the same keywords than the SEO page to get the highly targeted traffic. The anchor text in the About The Author box must include the main keyword in the hyperlink HTML. This will tie the article tightly together with the landing page and will fish the right, targeted visitors.

The SEO article can also use the same core keyword connected with slightly different, new keyword to be able to enter into the new niche market.

The SEO article has a great power in pre-selling the idea of the home business landing page, to tease the reader and to increase the interest. It also works as a brand building weapon, it is a writer`s voice, 100 % unique. Readers like this and search engines like this.

The traffic building power of the home internet business SEO article comes from the directory submissions, they bring a huge number of links, visitors and help to increase the search engine ranking of the landing page. Both short and long term.

3.Write Posts To The SEO Blog.

The SEO blog`s idea is technically the same than the SEO article. The SEO blog must be on the home page and optimized with the same keywords than the home page.

The SEO blog can be used for training purposes, writing article teasers with the link of the landing page or writing the full article. It is important that the contents of the SEO page, article and blog post differ at least 30 % from each other to avoid search engine punishment.

New Traffic Building Tool For Google Adwords

Google AdWords developers recently began activation of a tool that eliminated many of the barriers to breaking the code for performance improvement. A new tool just leaving the beta testers is promising huge income….and potential controversy.

The idea is especially practical and useful when you have Landing Pages. Splash pages make it even easier to take advantage of this improvement.

PPC advertisers are always looking for ways to build more traffic and sales from the money they invest into Google AdWords.

Click costs are on the rise and this makes it important to tighten up your control of your ads. By keeping an eye on your conversion of as much traffic as possible you will definitely improve your return on investment (ROI) ratios.

A recently introduced detective type of tool is slowly starting to crawl its way through the population of PPC advertisers. Its introduction is especially important to Google AdWords users, if it works. Here’s what has been learned about what we’ll refer to as the detective:

•This new tool is part of a system that appears to be applied most successfully when use with Google AdWords system.

•The detective is touted as making it easy to pick so-called low handing fruit. What this means is the heavy hitting major players in the PPC game, especially those who work their programs through Google AdWords, grab a big share of the millions of dollars a week that are earned through their AdWords campaigns.

However, they tend to leave literally thousands of dollars on the table because it’s not profitable to fine tune their campaigns to rake away every possible dollar.

•This detective tool not only picks off low hanging fruit, it also scouts the major player’s campaigns through a proprietary program and tracks a number of predictors of their campaign’s success.

•The system identifies hot markets, identifies the competition by name and urls and reveals the methods they are using to capture thousands of buyers daily. The tool also automates a very effective attack on any competitor targeted using a massive selection of keyword sets.

While this system seems to be designed to make it easier for newbie PPC entrepreneurs to compete in the profitable Google AdWords marketplace, it’s too soon to have all the details. Only time will tell if this clever tool will stand the test of time.

To summarize, an expanded beta-type group is currently testing this new system that has been tweaked to be successful with Google AdWords campaigns. Even though the system is based on highly technical algorithms its use is very simple and the ramp-up takes just minutes.

We always like to read about such systems but remain skeptical. As an active marketer it is easier to spend a few bucks and test a system than to keep struggling with poor results.

It’s also smart to test any system that is built on technology and designed to provide deep reaching research on your competitors. All major businesses invest heavily in market research and devote a sizable part of their money toward observing their competitors.

If you expect to be a major player, or otherwise build a successful online business, you’ll be well served to do your homework when it comes to new technology.

Should you choose to do some testing of your own we’ve provided a few suggestions. The following testing tips will help you start the ball rolling:

1.If you’ve never conducted any type of testing before, don’t create a really complicated experiment. Limit your first test to two to three elements of your campaign (e.g. keywords, try several text ad variations).

2.Make sure you allow enough time for statistic results to respond. If your test page gets 5K hit per day you’ll notice results much sooner than someone whose site only gets a few hundred hits per day.

3.Don’t stop with Landing Page Testing. Test different variations in graphics, colors and subject lines. Small changes can make huge and measurable difference in your results. Evaluate, evaluate, evaluate….and test again.

Don’t be in too big a hurry to get your results and start applying the initial changes you like. It can take you several weeks to learn how to test properly but you’ll more than make up for lost time in the revenue department.

Google Adwords Landing Page Poor

Maximizing your Google Adwords Account

Pay per click platforms like Google will help you optimize your campaign every now and then. Not that I’m head over heels for Google Adwords, but there’s no denying that they are, as of this writing, the biggest in the online market today. And compared to many of the vendors I’ve worked with, practically everybody else (with the exception of a few smaller and newer vendors) will leave you hanging by your thumbs. Yahoo Search Marketing for instance, takes weeks to respond to queries that actually require a customer service representative to address your issue.

Google on the other hand, usually assigns a team to your campaign. They will tend to change members every few months, so you’ll have to be a bit patient there, but at the very least they will accommodate questions and unique campaign requirements.

The team’s account manager will schedule an appointment with you to discuss your business and what you would like to accomplish. This will lay the groundwork and specification for your campaigns. They’ll ask about your business and what you’d like to see from your campaign – define expectations and goals. After this hour long conversation, they’ll go off for about 2 weeks and then you’ll see optimization proposals on your campaign. This of course you’ll have to approve or decline as you see fit to your campaign.

First you’ll notice a reclassification of keywords. They will group keywords according to specific product references: jeans, blue jeans, stone-washed jeans will most likely fall into one ad group. More often than not, it will be advised that keywords be grouped according to products. There will also be instances when keywords will be separated depending on how important they are to your core business. This will help with tracking and targeting from your end.

Second, keywords will be assigned a set of ads or marketing copy called ad texts. These will usually involve your unique selling points (USPs). As a general rule, they do not allow the use of comparatives or superlatives unless you have an acclaimed third party verify it and this should be mentioned on your landing page. Also relevance here is a key point. The ads should be reflect content that is also present in your landing page or homepage.

Third, there will be a suggested bid amount for each keyword. This will start at the minimum allowable bid. Quality scores will impact this minimum allowable bid. When your keyword to Landing Page Relevance (in terms of content) is low, this minimum bid will be higher than usual. Your quality score will by classified into 3- great, OK and poor.

  • Great will mean that your keyword is working well for you. Your landing page is relevant to your keyword.
  • OK will mean that there might be room for improvement in terms of landing page relevancy or ad text content.
  • Poor will mean that landing page relevance is likely to be low and/or ad text doesn’t fit. Over-all the impact will be a higher minimum bid for you to keep this keyword in your list.
  • It would be best to leave your bid at the absolute minimum at the beginning and strive on improving click through rate, as this will bring the keyword up without increasing your spend (theoretically). More often than not though, you may have to increase your bid should you also want to increase your chances of getting noticed online.

    Google particularly will require that you run your campaign for a few weeks with no changes and rightly so, after significant investment in time and effort from their end to optimize the campaign. From personal experience, there is often some noticeable improvement in this period. Naturally, they would know their platform best. Learn from these proposals and make sure to ask lots of questions. They are quite keen to lend a hand. Beats paying someone else to do it – that’s for sure.

    Maximizing the analytics that Google can provide, as well as the platform of numerous other pay per click vendors will get leads through the door. However, turning these leads into actual marketing and selling opportunities can only be done from the inside. The optimization will never be complete until you know for a fact on a per keyword basis, the return on investment that will allow you to actually see which variable is working best for you, whether it’s the

  • keyword list
  • ad texts
  • landing pages
  • that is bringing in the money. Being able to pinpoint the key success areas will allow you to gain the most from them. Make sure you maximize the services of your account management team but also balance this with proper tracking and reporting from your end. Bottom line: Google may provide the tools and services, but the marketing analysis and campaign evaluation is and always will be an internal effort.

    Ugly Squeeze Page Gets 66.22% Opt-In Rate

    This morning my Manager of Member Services came in, quite disgusted at something that I had done.

    The night before I had sent out an email with a link to a squeeze page that I had created, and she was completely repulsed by how ugly it was! She told me that with the fabulous graphic designer that we have available in-house, I could have had a much better looking squeeze page created for the campaign I was doing.

    She even went on to say that my web designer was hurt because I had created such an abomination! (It turns out he wasn’t hurt, he was actually happy to see me create such a piece of dirt as it secures his job further)

    I patiently listened to her continue on about how I need to provide better quality websites for the experience of my readers. After she was done and had gone to work, I looked at the stats that the squeeze page had produced overnight:

    66.22% conversion rate!

    Why on earth would this ugly squeeze page get a whopping 66.22% conversion rate when well designed pages struggle to get 20%? Well, I’ll let you in on the secret. The visitors were “sold” before they even got to the squeeze page!

    You see, I was emailing my own readers about an affiliate program that was happening within the next few days. In my email I explained all the benefits of using this program, and told them that if they wanted to learn more then they needed to sign up at that squeeze page.

    When people went to the squeeze page they already knew they wanted to sign up. Obviously some backed out (33.78% to be exact), but that could have been for various reasons, one maybe being how ugly my page was!

    So what can we learn from this interesting experience?

    1. Relationship building is key

    If you don’t have a great relationship with your readers then selling will be VERY difficult.

    2. Pre-selling is king

    As my good friend Todd Gross says, pre-selling is key to making a ton of cash through affiliate marketing (or through selling your own products).

    Where do you pre-sell? Everywhere! In particular your emails, your videos, your blog posts, your articles, and anywhere else before the visitor is asked to purchase.

    Because the visitors to the ugly squeeze page were pre-sold, they didn’t care how poorly written and ill conceived the page was – they already knew they wanted it.

    3. Prettiness is not always important

    In fact, I have found that the more “good looking” a website is, the lower it performs.

    Maybe this is due to the fact that the graphics are distracting, or perhaps it is because little (or no) time is put into delivering a useful, consistent, valuable message. Whatever the reason, I suggest you try removing the header graphics, fancy animated gifs, and other “pretty-factors” from your squeeze and sales pages and see what happens.

    You may be rather surprised.
