The Heart Of Your List Building Engine – The Squeeze Page
Okay, so you’re all set to get started making money as an affiliate. You’ve got a Clickbank account, you’ve done your research, picked a niche, and you’ve got a few products to promote…. But who are you gonna promote them to? Looks like you’re gonna need to build an email list!
You’ve probably heard the expression: The money’s in the list and it’s absolutely true. Your email list is your captive market that you develop a relationship with and promote your products to. Without a list, there’s very little chance of driving traffic to your website, or selling anything at all. Building a list is you absolute top priority, if you’re going to be a successful marketer.
Now you can’t go around blindly emailing people at random, for two very good reasons:
1. You have no idea if you’re reaching an audience who are actually interested in the products you’re promoting.
2. Nobody likes SPAM, and you could get slapped for violating the CAN-SPAM Act., which could have serious penalties.
Don’t worry though, building a list isn’t all that hard, but in order to collect the email addresses that you can safely send promotional emails to, you have to set up a squeeze page. A squeeze page is basically a single-page website with a web form that entices interested visitors to opt-in to your mailing list by offering a free product, such as an ebook, application software, videos or information in exchange for their email address.
A squeeze page can range from basic designs, with a minimum of graphics and a few lines of text, to eye-catching, mini-sales pages with slick graphics, video and audio clips. While video Squeeze Pages are more popular these days, both can be effective, depending on the nature of your campaign. You might want to split test a couple of different design types, and track which ones are more effective in converting subscribers.
If you don’t know much about HTML or web design, not to worry. There are a couple of ways to obtain squeeze pages that you can use to collect those all important opt-in email addresses.
You could hire a web designer to build some squeeze pages for you, but unless you know the person doing the work, you never really know what you’re going to get (or if you’re going to get it at all) and it could end up costing a tidy sum of money for Opt-in Pages that may or may not be attractive, or effective in converting curious visitors into subscribers.
On the other hand, there are plenty of places on the internet where you can obtain ready-made, professionally designed squeeze pages that with a few simple modifications can be customized to suit whatever affiliate campaign you may be promoting. Many of these sources offer a large library of squeeze page designs, created by industry professionals for a very modest price. And the best part is; you can actually see what you’re going to get before you purchase!

Learn How A Squeeze Page Can Gather Names For Your List
Today squeeze pages are considered to be a very effective tool for gathering information for email marketing campaigns. Your squeeze page can provide you with a reliable and authentic list of email names and addresses that will help make your campaign a success.
Squeeze pages are easily designed and don’t take long to create. So how does a squeeze page work? Well, an effective squeeze page will offer the visitor some kind of useful information in return for the visitor’s name and email address.
Perhaps you’ve written an ebook that can be given as a gift – or maybe you have an MP3 recording or an article on your topic that you could offer. A subscription to a newsletter you’re writing is another good idea. The visitor will then need to provide his or her information before the gift can be downloaded.
Remember, the visitor who is willing to leave his name and address in return for your gift is already interested in the product or information you have to offer, making him or her a good candidate for your email campaign.
Collecting this information by using a squeeze page can be a slower method than others, but since it is targeted information, it’s well worth the wait. As time goes on and you collect more and more names and addresses for your list, you will have formed a substantial foundation of interested addressees for your email campaigns.
So you see, a squeeze page can be profitable addition to your internet business!
