Landing Page Vs Homepage

landing page vs homepage
What is the conversion rate decline when a banner for an offer goes to a homepage vs a Landing Page.?

For example Rental car for $19.95 a day banner goes to corporate website then you must click on specials vs having the banner link right to the specials page. Is there any metric that shows the bounce rate increase the more the consumer has to click?

Certainly there are many studies showing that every obstacle placed in the user’s way (such as requiring them to hunt for a “specials” link on a home page) causes overall conversion rates to drop. I’ve certainly had the experience of taking over a client’s AdWords account and just changing the destination URL from the home page to the “right” landing page, and seeing 50% to 100% increases in conversion.

At conferences, I’ve heard examples where the difference was 300% to 500%.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to dig through my conference materials or do a web search — but I’m sure you can find a few such studies fairly easily by doing some Google searches.

Your question seems to be asking for an average or typical rate, but that’s pointless — your site is whatever your site is. If the navigation is difficult, non-intuitive, or requires multiple steps, then the conversion-rate difference will be high. If the navigation is simple (for example, if there’s a huge banner or featured link on the home page) then the difference may be quite small.

Website Usability Advice For Online Business

In addition to your customers, take advantage of technology to improve usability. For instance, log files tell you which pages are most visited and for how long, unique vs. repeat visitors, etc. They will not tell you whether users found what they wanted, or why they abandoned their shopping carts.

Many services advise on predictable problems such as broken links, missing ALT tags for images, page load performance, but are as anticipated unable to spot complex things like difficulty in locating products, awkward navigation, meaningless graphics, or poor results from on site search.

Flow

It is important to create a uniform feel for your website. Uniform doesn’t mean boring, rather it mean consistent. When a visitor lands on your homepage your goal is to engage the user. As the user browses through the site, a uniform feel is going to simplify the user experience. One of the worst web sites make every page look wildly different, so the visitor never becomes comfortable with the site. If you make your web pages utterly different, it is less likely that your visitor becomes quickly familiar with the site.

Images

There is nothing more boring than a website without images. A site with text only is dull and overwhelming at the same time. Images can create excitement and help spice up your content. The most important concern with images is file size. Images can be fairly large files, slowing down the page load process. If your images are too large, or you have too many, reduce the number of images or the file size.

Speed

You can’t afford to lose visitors because they give up waiting for your entire page to load. The Internet is a fast moving superhighway, and if you website doesn’t keep up it’s going to be left behind. Page load has to do with file size, server performance, and available network bandwidth. Although more-and-more people connect to the Internet through fast broadband connections, keep in mind the dial up users too.

Flash

Avoid Flash websites at, almost, all cost because it lowers usability. Flash encourages design abuse as it slows websites. There is nothing worse than visiting a website and having to wait for a clever Flash animation to load. Your customers are visiting your site because they are looking for a product or service. They, for the most part, could not care less about viewing a flash movie. Sorry, the “skip intro” button is not much help either. Flash intros are slow, obnoxious, and will result in loss of revenue. Don’t add flash for the cool factor. Unless it serves a purpose, forget it.

Many Flash designers reduce the granularity of user control and regress to old school presentation styles that resemble television age media rather than cyber age media. Websites that force visitors to sit through sequences with nothing to do eradicate the single most important characteristic of the Internet, interactivity.

The Top 5 Hints For The Beginner Blogger

I have been blogging for years now. It started as a hobby and has grown from there. I teach blogging classes now for Mastermind Pros. Blogging is a great hobby and it can also be used as a way to start your identity on the World Wide Web. Blogging is much easier to start than a web page, and it is a lot easier to maintain then a web site. There are quality Free Blog Hosts available, so there is really no reason not to get started today. Here are my top 5 hints if you are just beginning as a blogger.

Always Start With a Free Blog

I recommend Word Press or Blogger for the best places to get started in blogging. They both are easy to set up and use. Blogger might have better and easier to get help. However Word Press keeps adding more advanced features and does have a pay feature for more upgrades. With each Word Press account you can have more than one blog, and Blogger does offer the same feature, too. For this article I am just going to focus on Word Press. The reason for this is because most of the blogging information I have found out there for free chooses to focus on Word Press, and as you grow in your blogging experience you will most likely end up with a Word Press blog.

Think of a GREAT Name for Your Blog

If you are starting with Word Press, you will want to register an account, but for each blog you want to have a creative name that you choose for you blog. For example if you were writing a blog about being a teacher you might want to see if you can get a name for your blog that has teacher “style” keywords for the title. Another example might be My Life In Room 5 for your main title. You can change the title of your blog at any time that you want so if next year you were moved to room 22, you can just edit your title, but to choose your URL it would be different.

Picking the URL

The URL is simply defined as the Universal Resource Locator. An Internet World Wide Web Address. When you choose a URL for your free Word Press Blog it is shown as: name.wordpress.com. You would substitute your name for your blog where “name” is. Your “name” can be one word or a combination of words with no spaces between them. Several of the good names are already taken but with imagination and patience you can find a suitable name. Maybe choose your own name, for example. mastermindpros.wordpress.com I was able to get this blog just now. Remember that the URL title you pick is permanent unless you choose to delete it. You can delete free blogs at any time.

Make a Commitment to Post Often

Most people start blogging because they have something to say! Some people start them for other reasons but having been a Blogger for several years now and a visitor to several blogs, I still feel the majority of blogs out there are started by people who enjoy writing and have something to say, even if it is just commenting on news articles or sharing their poetry. Some people enjoy ranting. Have you visited other people’s blogs before? Go to any search engine and type in the name of something you are interested in like: Johnny Depp Blogs and see what shows up. I got over 276,000 results for that search on Google. So you can find people with the same interests as yours. You can read what they have to say then go comment on their blog and write about it on your blog. You can ask people with similar interests to share on your blog, too.

Do Not Delete Your Blog

Maybe you have started your blog and you hate it. Well think once, twice, three times and more about whether or not you want to keep or delete your blog. Why do I suggest keeping your blog? The main reason I suggest this is because you are starting your presence on the internet. That might not mean much to you if you are new, but it might mean more in months or years to come. Your blog is real estate in the World Wide Web Land. Real Estate here can become valuable, too. You can become valuable as you grow your property (your blog). Blogging is a fun hobby, but you never know what the future is going to hold for you or where you hobby might lead you. Especially if you are building your blog over time, and you are following some of the steps I mentioned in #4 above. People on the internet and bloggers are usually a friendly group. We love to have comments on our blogs. We usually respond to them. It is a special present to us when someone takes the time to make a comment. We love suggestions and people sharing what they are doing, too. The only thing that most bloggers hate is SPAM! That is where people post only to sell something or lead people to websites that they might not want to go to. Don’t fear that though since Word Press has powerful filters now and you get to approve what people can say on their comments.

You will find that Blogging is a lot of fun! If you can send emails you can blog. It is very easy to start up a blog using Word Press or Blogger. If you have been thinking about starting a blog and have not done so yet, my advice is to get started. It is a great free hobby and you never know where it might lead you. Share your interests with the world. There are thousands of readers out there searching for information. Perhaps they will find you. I hope you will enjoy your blogging experience as much as I enjoy blogging and reading blogs, too.

Instant visitor statistics for bloggers

Every website owner wants to know how many people are reading their blogs, and they are many places where you can get a visitor counter "or" how many online "buttons, but the information we receive from them is real or just depth.

Every blogger, whether that information if they want reliable, use Google Analytics to the overall picture of your visitors, and the information provided is surprisingly honest when you look at all the information on his blog. When visitors come, the land where they live, which pages they looked at how long lingered on his blog, etc. The size of files is incredible, and the reasons of company that should be present permanently these facts as a form observed in the web community.

But if you really want to be aware, now, how many visitors are on a blog, the pages you look so, so I have no hesitation in recommending addfreestats little known information counter.

This site will give you specific details in real time by referring to the number of people read your site NOW, you give a list of pages that reference the previous 50 Visitors to this city in what country they come, The page you started, the number of pages that you visit other (and how!).

It will also the normal number of more number of users, the number of unique visitors, number of pages visited, and all that, but as an excellent design that I'll write an article and then spend the next period only watch people come!

There are many other available data, almost certainly too numerous to mention this post, but I will highlight the number of visitors who click on your ads (exit pages), the most popular (no, not the most popular All) Research that has been typed in google to point to your site, the amount of time spent on the site regularly and the number of users hourly.

Bloggers can see that I can stay for hours, but it is enough to prove that I welcome everyone who has AddFreeStats advice site website or blog. Best of addfreestats is offered through a button on her children home page and is of course totally free! The disadvantage is that you just to put up with a pop stupid when you log in, but it is a low cost to pay for the statistics at your fingertips.

User Interface Designer Interviews?

Hello, I am looking for some advice from people applying for positions related to Web Application Design/User Interface Design, basically – Front End/Web GUI development

I am having SERIOUS PROBLEMS convincing the hiring manager/interviewers, that I have the required skills (XHTML/CSS/Fireworks/Photoshop/UI/FLASH, etc.) because they don’t see a good portfolio with working live prototypes.

My beef with this is a lot what I have done is NO LONGER UP LIVE,
1. Either the site design has been changed/redesigned
2. Or the page(s) was on a temporary domain (a Landing Page or microsite, or email campaign)
3. Or the application interface was internal to the Company/ITDept

And I am screwed either way, because either my portfolio is weak or I don’t have the related experience/language to get the job or I don’t have experience in any other field to start at entry level (like sales/marketing or finance or other technical, because I don’t have a BA or BS, I am completely SCREWED

It is hard to base your technical skills on a portfolio, even if you have a large one. Most employers prefer to see a BA or BS, as it shows that you are able to learn the skills and concepts as well as apply them.

One thing from your question that I have trouble with is how they don’t believe you when you have worked for another company/IT Dept using those subset of skills. (Granted they validated that).

Unfortunately it seems that you are in a tough spot. My suggestion would be to at the very least gain some type of certification, such as web development/Microsoft/Java certification. If you have the time/money, maybe think about going back to school to get a technical based degree (CS,BIS,MIS). I foresee it to be increasingly harder to compete for a position against other individuals who do have certifications/degrees, even if your portfolio is full of content.

Personal Branding Tools; 10 Reasons Why You Need A Personal Landing Page

There are many reasons why you need a personal landing page (PLP) to enhance your personal branding efforts. Let me count the ways….

10 Reasons why you need a personal landing page

  1. A PLP shows that you embrace new technology. Your audience will see that you are accessible in the same social sites that they are on. By being on Facebook, Twitter or Linked In prospects know you stay current with the technology that is available.
  2. Your PLP will become your social media dashboard. As I mentioned before your PLP should be set as your home page. No more typing in different URL’s in your browser just simply click on an icon. This will help you update your status easily.
  3. It makes it easy for others to connect with you. As soon as someone visits your personal landing page they intuitively know what to do. Those icons are just so tempting to click on.
  4. It keeps you ahead of your competitors. This simply puts you one step ahead of those guys. It positions you as the go-to person in a sense because you are organized and connected.
  5. It helps you control and manage your online presence. This dashboard is about integration. With integration, all of your social media activity becomes easier.
  6. It increases your SEO rankings for free. This is probably one of the most powerful secrets of the internet. Just about all social media activity is now being indexed. So those activities will improve the rankings of your PLP! All the more reason to keep posting and updating.
  7. It’s the first step in list building. The keep to wealth for the internet marketer is list building. Your list is your goldmine! But it starts with people connecting with you through your PLP from there you can direct them anywhere you like. Just click!
  8. Your email address becomes easier for others to remember. If I didn’t mention it enough, personal branding begin your name. This means “yourname.com” and with that your email becomes firstname@fullname.com (or .me). So if someone remembers your name they can remember your email address. Besides, how much are the “free” email places paying you to promote them?
  9. It is a tool in building your personal brand. The first thing that is shown on your PLP  is your name and in some cases your face. That what it is al about, name and face.

10.  You want others to remember your name. Isn’t that the point? Your name big, bold and beautifully displayed on your PLP. Now that leaves an impression in the minds of your prospects and visitors of you PLP.

Special Note; Do not treat your PLP like a website. It does not serve the same purpose as a standard website. The beauty in your personal landing page is in its simplicity and ease of use for visitors. Keep it that way.

Custom .htaccess Landing Pages?

I am wondering if there is a way for when my .htaccess password manager pops up if enter one username and password it will go to one page, and if you type in a different username and password it will open up a different page, if so, please tell me how! I use Yahoo small business so others who use this would be the best help! Thanks!

Do not know about “Yahoo small business”, but in general you will need (most likely) server side script to check the username and perform the redirect…
I do not think that you can do it with .htaccess only…

anti pelosi video…where did it go?

I viewed an anti-pelosi political video ad last week, but now can not find it. It is a surreal type of video where a superlarge head of Pelosi floats across the land with large video screens around her neck, expousing her dictatorial rhetoric. It is about 3 minutes long, and not sure where i discovered it. I think it was a link on yahoo’s home page. If you have seen it, or know how to find it, pleas let me know…thanks…It was very well done.

Super Internet Marketer 2.0- The Landing Pages In The 5 Ws And 1 H

As a businessman, you would be dreaming of having everything analyzed as easily as a business issue in 6 questions you can judge if it worth it or not. We will make a small portion of your dream come true, by providing you a full analysis of the feasibility of having a landing page on your website.

Q1: What is landing page?

It is an online tool that allows you to transform your website visitor from a one time visitor to a loyal follower to your website, by motivating the visitor to take a certain action that would enable you to keep this visitor linked to your website.

Q2: Why do you need a landing page?

Because it enables you to direct all your web visitors to taking one action, whether the action is to subscribe to the mailing list, apply to get a gift, or to watch a video.

Q3: What is the importance of the landing page?

By not having one on your website, you are losing on the daily by risking the chance that one of your web visitors would leave your website without becoming a constant follower to your website.

Q4: Why is it called a landing page?

The terminology “Landing page” was created to describe the role of such a page. The internet specialists tend to think of the web users as surfers who are roaming around like birds, until they land on one page that meets what they are looking for on the internet. Once they land on this page, if they found what they are looking for they are hooked. This is how it got its name.

Q5: Why are you doing a landing page?

This question is very important to answer in order to know how to create a successful landing page. It  is just like bullet. Just like the only use of a bullet is to hit its target, the landing page is all about hitting its targeted audience and motivating them into doing exactly the action you would like them to take. The resemblance between the landing page and the bullet extends to the fact that exactly as the bullet does not have any use except to hit its target, so does the landing page. Other than getting the desired action from the targeted audience, the landing page does not have any use.

Q6: How do you design a successful landing page?

There are three gradients for a successful landing page. However, before we address these three elements, let us define what as successful landing page is. A successful landing page is the page that would attract the targeted audience by providing the audience with what they are looking for, and at the same time would motivate the audience to take a certain action.

The three elements for a successful landing page are:

1. An Attractive Title: The title for your landing page should answer the targeted audience question. The internet user should read the title for your landing page and say to himself; “This is EXACTLY what I am looking for!” 2. An Illustrating Picture or Video: This is more of a visual aid that would emphasis t the message you are sending out to your audience. Its function is to demonstrate more vividly the message you are sending out to your audience. 3. Subscription Box: This is all what your landing page is all about! The main action you need your web visitors to take is to stay linked to your website, and the only way to do so is to have their contacts so that you could keep in touch. No better way to do that than to get their e-mail address through a simple subscription box.

Mr. Moheildeen shares in his video the excitement of creating his very first successful landing page ever. If you would like to know how he did it, you will have to watch the video. If you have any inquiries regarding the creation of the right landing page for your website, you can always subscribe to www.doubleurincome.org by registering your e-mail address and leave a comment with your inquiry and Mr. Ahmed would address it in future videos.

What Is Facebook :: Facebook Ads Explained

Facebook Ads – What is the right budget to set?

When you are first experiencing with any pay-per-click program, you should be very wary of spending too much money too fast. By setting a small budget to begin with, you are correctly experimenting with what is going to work for you and your offer. Let’s think about the negatives of setting a high budget per day right away with a new advertisement:

-You have no idea if your offer will convert or not

-You have no idea if there is more demand for your offer then you anticipated

-You have no idea what will happen whatsoever

Why would you setup a $100 a day budget right away vs. a $10 budget?

Well, you’d be an idiot, that’s the only reason why.

Whenever you are starting out right away you should always test your market and offer with a small budget before cranking it up. Let’s say your $10 budget is converting very well – then it’s time to step up your budget to $20. From $20 move to $30 etc..

You never want to make any HUGE jumps in Internet Marketing, it’s better to take many baby steps first.

Split testing: Any professional marketer knows they key to succeeding is by testing their advertisements. This is no difference in what we are doing; you must test your offers! A new marketer might think they have a great offer and set their daily budget to $200-$300, which is a lot of money to them. Well, what if the offer the novice marketer thought was going to do well turned out to do horrible? They are out almost their entire marketing budget. I have seen this happen to many marketers and I hate to see it happen.

There is nothing wrong with setting a 5-10 dollar budget the first day with 3 different ads to see which one does best.

You also want to be able to have multiple Landing Pages for your visitor to land on. Put a statcounter code on these pages to see which ones are getting the most hits. You can sign up for free statcounter codes that will be invisible on your landing pages at www.statcounter.com . I use them for over 50 projects and have had great results.

Schedule: I prefer to run my advertisements from Saturday until Thursday. In my tests, I have come to the conclusion that Fridays and Sundays are not the greatest days for Internet Marketing. It seems like many people do not bother poking around the Internet and are out doing other activities. During the week and Saturday’s are generally my best days for profits. Schedule your ads accordingly to your peak times.

Budget Management: Be sure to manage your budget across many offers. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Successful marketers have a lot going on that equals them to being successful. Do not be discouraged if one of your offers do not work, just cross it out and move on to the next one.

Change Landing Page To Facebook

Many people out there still think that all Facebook is these days is a way for people to communicate with each other. They think that this social website is like every other one out there, where families can connect with each other, and where people blog about their day so that other people will know about it. This is true, it is that, but it is way more, and if you are going to change landing page to facebook on your advertising links, you will need to know more about it.

For those of you who do not know, a landing page is the page that potential customers will go to when they have clicked a link on your advertising. Say you had a Google adwords account; you would have a link on search results in the Google search engine.

You will need to have a short write up about you company, and when people feel that your site will give them what they are looking for they will click on the link, which will take them to your landing page. Most of the time, you will find that a landing page is a company’s web home page, but you can do better than that, like if you were to change landing page to facebook profile.

If you did this you will find that you will be able to offer your clients much better interactivity on your landing page. This will give you a chance to list all of your products for sale and let people know what is happening within your company.

Just like those people let their families know what is happening in their lives, you will be able to update your clients about new products and application with one click of a mouse button. It is as easy as that – which is why you need to learn about the power you will have with Facebook landing pages.

Increase Your Page Rank With Link Building Bookmarking Sites

Page rank is at the top of the priority list for every website and blog. If your page isn’t ranked well, no one will find it, you won’t have any traffic and business will suffer. The bottom line- you need to rank in the top few results in the Search Engine Results Pages or you won’t be able to make a success of your online business. Sure, there may be the rare exception to this rule, but overall, you have to do a whole lot more than just build it before they will come, you have to have your sign out on the road- at the top of the SERPS- to show them the way.

One great way to increase the ranking of your page for the search engines is to build your inbound links from other sites. When link building, the higher the page rank of the incoming link, the better it is for you. One way to create inbound links for your site is through leaving comments, with a link, on other sites and blogs. Another popular way to create incoming links is by using social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking sites allow users to create lists of their favorite sites, articles, photos and other online information by posting links to the respective sites on the bookmarking site. Then people who follow you on the bookmarking site can get a look at where you like to surf on the Internet and check out the same things you are checking out. Obviously, the higher your popularity or expert reputation online, the more people you will have respecting the links you post and clicking through to find out what you are learning and sharing.

Delicious.com is a popular bookmarking site and it is both free and easy to use. To join Delicious.com you simply fill out a quick form with some basic profile information. After that, start bookmarking your online favorites and sharing some link love.

In order to get the most from bookmarking, you need to categorize your links. Delicious.com and other bookmarking sites require categories, or tags, for the links you post and will offer suggestions based on the URL or the article title. Try to post in the most logical categories, but don’t be afraid to get a little creative as well. You can use the popular search buttons on Delicious.com to search for popular sites in your industry as well.

Most online entrepreneurs- and perhaps bloggers in particular- are not only generous in sharing links to other sites, they are also quite reciprocal. There is a definite “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” attitude prevalent among most bloggers and affiliate marketers. Most successful entrepreneurs realize that no one is successful in a vacuum and they are more than happy to share the wealth.

Search Engine Perspectives-Landing Pages, Fly Paper

Landing pages have the ability to grab and hold us like fly no-fly paper or repel us like jumping on the trampling. The question is what impact your landing page has on the people who visit your website. As I talk to people who are just getting into SEO (search engine optimization), all they focus on our rankings in traffic. We have to remember that “rankings” in “traffic” or not the end but a means to the end. That end is visitors to your site that take advantage of the solutions that you offer. We can have a lot of traffic to our website but if no one is sticking around long enough to see if our solutions can solve their problems then that traffic does not mean anything.

A lot of thought must go into your landing pages, both from a search engine perspective and from a customer perspective.

Search Engine perspective:

This is covered in Search Engines 101 Paid Vs Natural Search so I am not going to go into detail here.

Customer Focused Landing Pages

Your landing page has to do one thing, answer the questions that the searcher had in mind when he typed in his keywords. The searcher type in his search terms because he has a problem, needs a solution or is in some kind of “pain”. You have about two seconds to convince him that you understand what he is going through and what he needs. The last thing a searcher wants to see is that you can jump higher, run faster and do it better than the competition. He just doesn’t care (yet). Besides, most of the websites that he already visited probably stated that they do that. The challenge is to show the searcher that you have the answers to his needs. How do we do that?

1. Think of as many questions as you can that might be on the mind of a visitor to that specific landing page.

2. Choose one of the questions to be the title of that specific landing page. Use the other questions as sub points or topics in the outline of the page.

3. The content underneath each heading will be a description of the problem. It is very important that when you describe the problem you do it from your client’s perspective.

4. After describing two or three scenarios that your client may fall into closeout with the paragraph that describes your qualifications for dealing with the above scenarios. This is where you put in how me years of experience, the combined experience of your team or your experience in the marketplace.

5. The last thing is to have a call to action. The idea is that if your client falls into one of the scenarios described it would be natural for them to do the call for action to get help with their problem.

For example, if someone is doing a search on long-term care insurance they may only have a general idea of what you’re looking for. When they come to a landing page that has a question like “what happens to your nest egg if you suffer an illness or an injury that requires long-term care?” Then in the description of the problem they read that one year of long-term care can cost between $90,000 and $130,000 and as a result of this high costs it will either force you into bankruptcy or dependency on your children or family to take care of you. (Not a pretty picture.) After you add your qualifications, whatever they are, you put in your call to action. It could be something like “for a free quote and help in understanding what your options are fill out form below and one of our experts will contact you within the next 48 hours”.

So the question remains, are your landing pages flypaper or trampolines? Customer focused landing pages are worth the time and energy to produce. If you are not sure give us a call and we will do a free evaluation of your site. This will help determine whether or not changes or in order.

Looking for this some-what humorous Red vs Blue comic on a website now i can’t find it, any ideas?

The comic involves two red soldiers who are lost in a war torn city that is occupied by a blue army, at one point they push a tank off a ledge and it lands on some blue soldiers, the comic’s last page is the same as it’s first just more futuristic.

I know this is VERY broad, unfortunately that’s all i can remember,
but any help would be appreciated.

Capture Every Visitor Type by using Free Video Landing Pages

Are you capturing every audience learning type that you can – or are you being prejudice and only offering your information to people that are readers? If you want to increase your list of followers then you have to gear your information to suit all learning styles of people. There are many people in this world that are either not interested in reading, can’t read or just too busy to read. You can widen your audience by including a video Landing Page to the non-readers in your offers. And there are ways of doing it that is completely FREE.

There are many people that go to work every day where their job involves reading through paperwork or reading on the Internet. This can be very mentally draining to those individuals. When these people want to do research on the Internet for their own use, the last thing they want to do is more reading. It is far more refreshing to them to view a video on the subject of interest. That means when they stumble upon a webpage that offers video, they are more apt to stay on that page and watch the video. If you are not offering video on your webpage they will probably continue to search until they find a webpage that does.

On the other hand, there are people that cannot read, or struggle to read. Like the people not wanting to read, they too will click off the websites that don’t offer video and search for web pages that do offer video.

And the last groups of non-readers are those that have very busy lives, and simply do not have the time to sit down and read the information they are looking for. They too will continue to search until they find a video, and that saves them time.

As you can see, by not offering video landing pages to the non-readers not only are you being prejudiced to the readers, you are also giving these non-readers away for free to someone else that is offering video. When, in reality you could keep every one of these visitors for free by offering video on your landing page.

There are many free resources available on the Internet… when put together in the proper process, will give you a free video landing page. This video landing page will be your Squeeze Page where you can collect their contact information for further follow-up.

Can a Video Landing Page Boost Your Sales and Conversions

A video landing page is an innovative means to encourage visitors to know more about your business and products. In many instances the ideal situation for you is to get your visitors to buy something, but not always.  In majority of the cases, your visitor is already interested in what your website has to offer as they linked to it by pressing on an ad. In such an instance, if you have a video landing page to greet your visitors and to let them know how your product or service is ideal for them, then you have already won half the battle. Even if your visitor does not purchase at that very moment, your video landing page can at least get your visitor to make a small commitment to your product by supplying their contact information.

Significance of a Video Landing Page

It is a well-known fact that a video landing page can dramatically boost a website’s sales and conversions. This implies that not only can you get more direct sales through a professional video landing page, but  can also create a powerful branding impact on your visitor. Some people might not be quite ready to commit to a purchase today, but the fact that they have spent a bit of time on your landing page im they will likely remember you when they are ready to buy.  It is easy to just ignore a boring banner ad, but videos are exciting and can keep people’s interest for at least a few minutes.

Triple your Conversion Rate through Video Marketing

Some people claim to have tripled their conversion rates by using a professionally created video landing page on their websites. It is likely that as more and more websites use video landing pages, visitors will get used to them and there will be a bit of a drop in overall conversion rates.  Despite this, there is no doubt that even when the novelty wears off, video marketing will still remain more effective than anything that has gone before.

The days of the static web page are more or less over. If you are serious about boosting your sales and conversion rates then you will certainly want to at least consider adding a video landing page to your website. Maybe you are worried that this is all just a fad that will pass? Well, this form of advertising is certainly becoming increasingly popular, but with good reason; it works.  If you have an amateur blog or want to sell things to your relatives then you might still get away with that; otherwise something with a bit more oomph will be required to get visitors doing what you want them to do. A professional video landing page could be just what your website needs!

I have a S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR. I need to run Flight Simulator X. What kind of graphics card do I need?

I tried to run Flight Simulator X about a year ago, but the graphics in the game like the land and water and planes are all white. The game is usually slow. When I look at the system information page, it says at the bottom DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) On the back of the box it says: DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 32mb of ram and support for hardware transformation and lighting. PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET ONE AND FOR ABOUT HOW MUCH. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you NEED to waste money cause the S3 is a dinosaur, I suggest you get the GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB version as a min!

Top 3 Guaranteed Ways To Improve Google Landing Page Score

Top 3 Guaranteed Ways To Improve Google Landing Page Score

Each time you fire off your Adwords campaign, Google will automatically grade your keywords in 3 ways – Great, OK or Poor…depending directly on your Google Landing Page Score and will determine how much is your minimum bid for that keyword. It does not matter if you are the only standing person putting a bid on that keyword, if your score is Poor, you will have to pay a higher minimum bid, sometimes 50% higher than others.

1. How To Select Keyword for maximum Google Landing Page Score

Your keywords must be closely related to the product you are promoting Instead of aimlessly targeting thousands of keywords (where 50% of them are probably not relevant) it is better for you to go after keywords that are highly related and targeted to your product. Google also has “Site related keywords” tool within your AdWords account. By using keywords that Google itself think is relevant will definitely improve your Google landing page score You can even use the Site Related Keywords tool to spy on your competitor’s landing page and see their keywords. Always use negative keywords to exclude your ads from unwanted responses. I always use “Exact Match” or “Bracketing” vs Broad keyword match because you can get targeted traffic this way. Keep monitoring the performance on your ads and delete those that does not get click.

Second: Write a Quality Ad to Get High Google Landing Page Score

Use the Headline to Grab the readers attention and always place your keyword into the headline. I have personally seen my highest click through rates when I either include “How I…”, “Discover” or Numbers in the headline. The 2nd line of the ad should always tell a Benefit. If you are selling the audio converting software your benefit might be “Convert files 40% faster”. A call to action should be in place and clearly presented to your customers. Google does not want you trick the visitor into thinking something else is “on the other side” of the click ie “Free Software Trial” – people is trying to get a free software trial period. Your Landing Page Url is the single most important influence to your Google landing page score and Google has suggested that you always capitalize the 1st letter of each word in your display url. My display URL might be “1010AdwordsQualityScore.com” – My URL is highly relevant and I am promoting secrets to get 10/10 great score with Google adwords.

Finally – Your Landing Page for Maximum Google Landing Page Score

Google always check on the landing page relevancy. Your landing page needs to be relevant to what you are selling so if you put Google Guide in your ad then you better be selling some type of Google information.

Title Tag of your landing page must include your keyword and Do Not stuff keywords in your title tag – “Buy Audio Converting Software, we have best Audio Converting software, convert your audios” – that smells and looks like s*pam to Google. Have your description meta tag to talk about your landing page and include your keyword in it..

Your H1 must include your keyword and must be relevant to the rest of the site. Use H2 and H3 as well to get high Google landing page score. Some other easy tips is to always add a Contact Us and Privacy Policy links.

The only secret to get a high Google Landing Page Score is to have 100% relevancy on your landing page. Check out www.1010AdwordsQualityScore.com. It shows you how a website gets from 7/10 to a Great 10/10 Google landing page score.

Columbus Web Design Strategies for Landing Pages

In the Columbus Web Design and development world, there are a few ways to view these web pages. Single purpose, distinct web pages are called Landing Pages. And more traditional image oriented or static web pages like you see in most corporate situations like web blogs, retail web sites, and others.

This article will discuss various Columbus Web Design strategies with respect to developing these types of pages

Types of website landing pages include Squeeze Pages, also called opt-in or flycatcher web pages, involvement pages, long form sales letters, micro websites, and reference sites

When considering a new web page design, the Columbus Web Design expert must pay close attention to the marketing purpose.

Here’s what we mean..

The Columbus Web Design purpose of the Opt-in Page is to generate a lead. This data could include first name, last name, address, city, state, zip code and phone number.

The web design purpose of an involvement page is to get the prospect involved in the sales process by being asked to take some form of action. Types of action include participating in a survey or poll.

Columbus Web Design experts should implement a long form sales letter if a sale can be made directly from the website.

The design of Microsites should look like larger scale websites but the primary purpose is usually something very specific like becoming a subscriber of the site or even registering for a free workshop.

Additionally, Columbus Web Design practitioners should design reference sites when looking to solicit others to contribute articles or their business information to business directories.

The last piece of information the Columbus Web Design support person should consider would be what is the objective of the page. As discussed briefly above examples include providing the prospect a bonus of some sort if the opt-in, participating in as survey or vote, becoming a member of your site, downloading a free ebook or some software or making a product free not including shipping.

Aloha!

I have a yahoo e-commerce website- and would like to find a free program that allows me to offer an opt in newsletter on my website.

I’d prefer a popup on my landing page.

Anyone know of such a program?

I’m using a pc running XP, Yahoo sitebuilder, and yahoo hosting.

Thanks! Anthony

a little piece of advice, 90% of web surfers (your target customers) are annoyed by pop ups and will immediately leave the site without hanging around. it’s kind of like going to look at new cars and the salesman just won’t leave you alone so you can browse. I am an experienced website designer.

Free Business Page on Facebook

Free is a very persuasive word which as a small business; is a no brainer when it relates to advertising. Creating a Facebook business page is great way in adding to the overall strategy of your online presence and is a great tool in promoting your website while connecting directly to your customer base. Facebook boasts 300 million active users worldwide and is growing every day. Within this article, you will find the necessary steps to get your business profile up and running in very little time.

  1. A business page needs to be separate from your personal profile. On the Facebook homepage, right below the sign up section is a link that says, “Create a Page for a celebrity, band, or business.”  Click the link and follow the instructions to set up your profile.
  2. Populate your about page by adding the details of company such as address, phone, website, description, and hours. You will also notice there are other tabs at your disposal but for now stick, with the basics. Be sure to add some related photos as well, visual elements will add to the interest.
  3. Selecting the info tab as your default page is the best choice for a business. This promotes information directly related to your company when an individual who is not a fan of your business lands on your profile.
  4. Modify your privacy setting to ensure that your profile is publicly available as this is the main reason for the development of the profile. You can still limit certain sections to fans only but make sure you do not block the basic information about your company.
  5. Find fans by starting with your friends and family. Even if they do not have Facebook, you can send invitations to their email encouraging them to sign up. As word spreads, your business will be recommended to your fans’ networks.

Ten Top Tips for Website Improvement

Search Engine optimisation (SEO) is the term used for a range of processes and tools that help to ensure your website is found and, hopefully, found on the first page of any search engine listing for certain words. An entire industry has sprung up as part of the internet revolution. There is one thing that many of these companies have in common. They make the whole process more confusing than it need be and they charge large amounts of money to the customer who then becomes reliant on them. The tips shown below will allow you to get up at least a couple of steps on the ladder to a high performance website. These tips are by no means exhaustive but it will at least start bringing the hits to your site.

Tip 1 Website Content

You just need to look at any website randomly and this point is amply illustrated. The text that you use should be visitor friendly. A visitor wants to see that they are searching for fairly immediately. If you are looking for a manufacturer of widgets the last thing you want to know is all the machinery that the company has got that is used to make the widgets. If you ask yourself “so what” when you have read a website then the website owners have missed the point. Any website should be about benefits to the potential customer. The same widget customer wants to know what colour he can get it in not how they make it. With this in mind your text for the website should not be all about what you do but what you can do for the customer.

Tip 2 Research Keywords and phrases

Ask yourself which search terms will people put into search engines such as Google to find you?  This is the basis of all search engine optimisation. You need to follow a few simple rules and identify which are the most important ones for you. Suggestions for key words can be found using Google’s Keyword Tool. But do not be tempted to choose keywords that are the most popular. Firstly those keywords might be the hardest to optimise for and secondly they may not reflect accurately your product or service. Google helpful ly provide an indication of a keyword’s competitiveness and a keyword with less competition may be more appropriate.

Tip 3 Include relevant keywords in your text

To ensure your site is more relevant, include keywords in your text. A word of caution here. You should not be too repetitive with the keywords just to achieve a higher ranking. As we have seen you should write your text for the people who read it and not for the search engines. Also you can have different keywords on the same page or different ones on different pages. This will ensure that each page is optimised not just the home page.

Tip 4 Call to action

Ask yourself one question once you have read a web site page. “What do you want me to do now?” A lot of websites are beautifully written have nicely laid out graphics but then fail to close the deal. That deal may be to get the prospect to click on another page or even to purchase something. So it is very important to have a strong call to action on each page.  This call to action can be anything from “call now” to “buy now to get free gift” etc. The aim of a website is to attract someone to it and then get them to do something else.

Tip 5 Keep Navigation Simple

Today people in general have a short attention span or they are impatient as time is precious. You will hear variations on a theme of the following statement but typically when someone lands on your site you have about 12 secs to capture them. If they do not immediately see what they want or have to search through layers of website they will leave and your competitors will benefit. As a rule of thumb no more than three clicks should get anyone to where they need to go to get information they are looking for.  It goes without saying also that if you optimise a page for a particular keyword or phrase and someone searches for that phrase they should land on the right page and not on the home page where they will have to search for what they want.

Tip 6 Use Title Tags and Alternate Tags

When you carry out a search on Google or other search engine you will be returned a website name and some other text. The text used comes from the title tags. By default the many websites include something to the effect of “Welcome to our website” or similar. However a better approach would be to include some of your main keywords. And it is perfectly acceptable to include keywords only and not form them into a sentence. You should also keep the company name to the end of the title tags and not the beginning. All of this means that when someone searches on your keywords the list will include a title with the keywords they were searching for and this will encourage them to click on your link.

Alternate tags are the text messages you see when you hover your mouse over a picture or graphic. It is necessary to describe your graphic in this way as Google cannot ’see’ graphics and therefore will consider them as uninteresting white space. Once again including keywords in your Alt tags will further improve your ranking.

Tip 7 Update regularly

There is nothing worse than seeing a last updated date of many years before. This says that the company cannot be bothered to keep it updated. If this is the case why should the customer be interested?  Regular updating is essential to ranking. The more you update your site the more often Google will return and the more often that happens the higher your ranking will be. This does not necessarily mean that you have to change your whole website. It is however worth refreshing it on a regular basis. One way of updating your site regularly is to include a news feed or a blog. This will allow you to change the content of the site without it being too time consuming.

Tip 8 Build Links

Linking to other sites both incoming and outgoing is an important part of optimisation. The more traffic that you have coming from external sites the better your ranking. This means not only trying to obtain reciprocal links but other activities that can be very cost effective.  Some of the newer approaches include social networking. LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook among many others can be used to improve your brand but also to encourage people to visit your site. Once you have built up your following particularly amongst the customer base you are targeting, making offers or offering some other incentive via these media can often result in increased traffic.

Another way of doing this is to write articles like this one on your specialist subject.  Including a link to your website with more information, will ensure further click throughs. There are many free press release sites to which you can send your release for distribution. Again click throughs can be obtained linked to further information on your site.

Tip 9 Add Google analytics

If you cannot measure it, you cannot control it! All these tips will lead to changes to the number and types of hits on your site. But how do you know if it is working and how do you know what else to do to improve your SEO?  There are many tools available now that will allow you to see how many hits you get on each page, the conversion from enquiry to action, which keywords are important and much more. One such is Google Analytics which is free code generated on the Google website for you to include on each page of your website. This allows the software to track what happens and gives you the results in terms of a regular report. Review of this report on a regular basis will help you to make changes that will improve your site and possibly improve the journey through your site for visitors.

Tip 10 Add news letter/download sign up

How do you capture the details of those prospects who visit your site? One way is to write a regular newsletter, perhaps with offers or important information. Visitors can then sign up to receive this newsletter from your site. Similarly you may write articles, papers or other documents relevant to your industry, technology or market which you can offer free to visitors in exchange for their email address and other details. This is useful in two ways. First you can use the data to build a database for your newsletters and offers etc. Second you can use the information to carry our segmentation of your market which will allow you to precisely target your messages to different groups to make them more relevant.

In the SEO world there are no guarantees and it takes a lot of time consuming effort but the results will be worth it. Also be patient as it will take time for your site to climb the rankings. And finally keep at it. Good SEO requires persistence above all else.
